MAYIM RABBIM (מַיִם רַבִּים)

Gripped by the noise of the world,

A sea built by the tears of my own

faithless heart.

Darkness clouding my mind,

Confusion steering my boat,

Fear creeping through the waters…

Unsteady is my soul.

Troubled is my heart,

Lost in a sea of destruction.

At the depths of my own agony,

Gripped by my own understanding,

Questioning His ways, filled with anger,

Lost in the depths of my soul.

But a small, still voice…

A Light.

Hope glistening through my eyelids.

Your hands, I behold.

Lost in the Light

that the holes in Your palms carry.

Light rushing through the clouds of my mind,

Peace settling my heart,

Hope steering my boat.

“Step out of the boat”, You say.

Carried by unconditional love

onto the water.

The world…

Lost in awe,

the fire in Your eyes,

Held by faith

on the stillness of the sea.

“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.” Song of Songs 8:7
